Dr. Fahad Saleh Al-Ismail is the Director of Center for Environment & Marine Studies (CEMS), Research Institute (RI), and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Before he was appointed as the Director of CEW, he was the Director of Energy Research and Innovation Center, RI, KFUPM, which is sponsored by King Abdullah City for Atomic & Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE).

Dr. Fahad obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, United States of America. He received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Electrical engineering from KFUPM.


Research & Scope

power system planning & reliability, integrated energy resources planning, energy storage system planning and operation, Demand-side management modeling with intermittent resources, uncertainty quantification and representation of renewable energy in the system model. Energy efficiency and saving strategies. Energy Auditing, Energy accounting and economics. Integrated model to Energy, Water and Food Nexus and its environmental implications. Carbon circular economy.
